xiros® lubrication-free polymer ball bearings
The inner and outer rings are made from igus® tribopolymers in order to maximize service life and minimize friction values. In contrast to metallic ball bearings, xiros® polymer ball bearings function without lubrication. For this reason, they are suitable for numerous applications where, in comparison to permanently lubricated metallic ball bearings, lubricant-free use is more important than top speeds or loads. These include food and medical technology, the packaging, textile, chemical and electronics industries, as well as applications in cleanroom or office technology.
iglide® xiros® ball bearings open new fields of application for plastic bearing technology. The inner and outer races are made from high-performance iglide® materials. The corrosion-free balls are made from stainless steel. Glass balls are also available for maximum corrosion resistance.
xiros® is made from either iglide® A500, which is a temperature-resistant material up to 302°F (150°C), or iglide® B180, which is temperature resistant up to 176°F (80°C).
xiros® is a range of single-row, grooved ball bearings in accordance with DIN 625. The lubrication- and maintenance-free ball bearings are comprised of four components:
the outer race
the inner race
the cage
and the balls
