In the development of iglidur® D, a very low price was at the top of the requirement profile. In particular, low coefficient of friction was required at high speeds in dry operation. High-strength filament for structural components or as a material partner for multi-material components
igumid P190 is an extremely strong and stiff 3D printed filament due to the reinforcement with carbon fibre. It was specially developed as a partner material for iglidur i190 for the production of very strong and at the same time friction-optimised components in multi-material printing. Furthermore, it can be used for printing stable structural components. Thanks to the high strength and high rigidity, as well as its low density of 1.25g/cm³, igumid P190 is ideal for lightweight construction with low material requirements.

For structural components where high strength and stiffness are required
For special mounting brackets for energy chains
As a multi-material partner with iglidur i190, for the combination of a high-strength material (igumid P190) and a particularly durable plastic (iglidur i190)

iglidur® G V0 | V0 rating according to UL94, universal
iglidur® GV0 is the first iglidur® material with V0 rating according to UL94 for universal use in the normal temperature range. It is predestined for applications with high fire protection requirements (vehicle interior, aviation, building services, etc.). All other iglidur® materials with V0 rating are part of the high-temperature segment. The general mechanical and thermal specifications are largely comparable with the all-rounder iglidur® G.

iglidur® N54 | The biopolymer, based on renewable raw materials
iglidur® N54 is the first iglidur® material that is largely based on biopolymers. In addition to the fact that all iglidur® materials are already lubricant-free, this is a further step towards a positive environmental balance. Good coefficients of friction paired with service lives that allow series use in sporadically moving applications give this material a firm place in the iglidur® program.

The special feature of iglidur AX500 is that it is a conductive material. In addition, AX500 has an even lower wear value than its predecessor. The material was developed especially for the food industry and can therefore be used in contact with food without any problems.


iglidur® A200 | FDA-compliant for low speeds
iglidur® A200 is suitable for use in direct contact with food. It is the ideal solution for bearing points on machines for the food industry, medical equipment manufacturing, small household appliances, etc. Since the addition of solid lubricants had to be dispensed with to ensure food compatibility, iglidur® A200 is specially designed for abrasion resistance. Additionally, the iglidur® A200 is characterised by its ability to embed dirt and by its quiet operation.

Compared to iglidur® A180 with regard to the mechanical properties, temperature and media resistance, iglidur® A181 is more suitable with respect to the wear resistance in most cases.

The mechanical specifications in sporadically moving applications are better, but in comparison there are significant reductions in friction and wear. Like all iglidur® materials, iglidur® J2 is PFOA-free.

iglidur M260 was specially developed for use in harsh environments. In addition, care was taken during development to be able to use the material particularly well for injection-molded thick-walled bearings. This makes iglidur M260 particularly suitable for applications in which thick-walled bushings are to be used or replaced that are also as robust as possible.

Easy-to-process, abrasion-resistant filament - suitable for food contactiglidur i150 is characterised by high wear resistance, as the material is enriched with solid lubricants. It can be processed just as easily as standard PLA and PETG filaments. Due to its high wear resistance and good mechanical properties (strength, toughness, layer adhesion), it is an all-rounder material that is suitable for most applications and 3D printers. This makes it by far the most frequently used igus filament. There are restrictions only in terms of the maximum permanent application temperature of 65°C and for highly dynamic applications.Furthermore, it is suitable for food contact due to the conformity according to EU 10/2011 and is therefore ideal in applications in the food and packaging industry.

iglidur A350 is an abrasion-resistant, high-temperature filament developed for the food and packaging industry. As such, the raw material is compliant with EU 10/2011 and FDA food contact regulations and has the industry standard blue colour. It is temperature-resistant up to 180 °C, fire-retardant according to UL94-V0 and can be sterilised with superheated steam.
Tip: iglidur A350 complies with the fire prevention requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration of the USA (FAA) for aircraft interiors

When to use it?

For applications in the food industry with high application temperatures of up to 180 °C

When not to use it?

When high wear resistance at high temperature loads is required
If, in addition to high application temperatures, high strength is also required or complex parts are to be produced (→ iglidur RW370)

iglidur® Q2 stands for high load-bearing capacity and good abrasion resistance under high loads. The price-performance ratio is outstanding. Solid lubricants reduce the coefficient of friction and support the wear resistance, which has been significantly improved compared to other iglidur® materials, especially for highly loaded swivel applications.

iglidur® R | Low-cost material, low coefficients of friction
In the development of iglidur® R, the focus was on high performance and a very low price. In particular, low friction and wear values were to be achieved in dry running. Components made of iglidur® R are specifically supported by a combination of solid lubricants. The PTFE and silicone-free material achieves outstandingly low friction values in dry running and runs largely stick-slip-free.

Easy-to-process, abrasion-resistant filament for the printing of food grade components in blueThe iglidur i151 tribofilament is suitable for components with high wear resistance, as the material is filled with solid lubricants. It was specifically developed for use in the food and packaging industry: the printed components are compliant to FDA and EU Regulation 10/2011 and the blue colour ensures the required optical detectability. iglidur i151 is also an all-rounder material, and due to its good mechanical properties (strength, toughness, layer adhesion) it is suitable for most applications. iglidur i151 has comparable mechanical specifications as iglidur i150, by far the most frequently used igus filament. There are restrictions in terms of the maximum permanent application temperature of 65°C and for highly dynamic applications.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i6-BLUE
The iglidur i6-BLUE material, developed for laser sintering, is specifically intended for use as a worm wheel, and for food contact. The tests in the igus test laboratory showed a longer service life than for conventionally milled gears - e.g. POM - This significantly increases flexibility in the design of components, because the laser sintering process eliminates the need for tooling and therefore special parts can be manufactured efficiently with no minimum order quantity. Furthermore, iglidur i6-BLUE is ideal for snap-on connections due to the higher elongation at break.

When a food-compliant material in a continuous blue colour is required (optical detectability)
For applications with sliding motion, especially for worm gears

The laser sintering powder iglidur i9-ESD has a electrical resistance of 10^6 to 10^9 Ohm. This makes it electrostatically dissipative (ESD), and at the same time reduces the risk of unwanted discharge currents between sensitive, electrical components. This makes it ideal for applications in the electronics and semiconductor industries, and especially for electronic connectors.

Fire-retardant high-temperature filament, ideal for the railway industry
iglidur RW370 is an abrasion-resistant, high-temperature tribofilament which was specifically developed for use in railway vehicles. As such, its fire-retardant specifications conform to UL94-V0 and EN45545. In addition, it has the maximum mechanical strength of all tribofilaments and a long-term temperature resistance of 170 °C, which makes it the material of choice for high-temperature applications.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i3
The iglidur i3 material, specially developed for laser sintering, showed an abrasion resistance 3 to 30 times better than conventional materials for laser sintering in the tribological tests in the igus® test laboratory. As a result, the degrees of freedom are further increased when designing wear-stressed sliding components. It is used for  all  sliding applications, as well as rollers, racks, spur gears and bevel gears.

When to use it?

For all types of applications where low friction and high wear resistance are important
When components with high mechanical strength are required, in particular spur gears, bevel gears, drive nuts, special slides and spherical bearings
Very good wear properties with anodised aluminium as a counter partner

Components made from the 3D printing material iglidur i180-BL can be used universally for all types of wear-resistant parts, such as plain bearings, gears and drive nuts, as this material has also been specifically developed for moving applications. The higher wear resistance and higher temperature resistance (100°C over the long term) extend the range of application, especially for more dynamic applications with higher surface speeds.

Selective laser sintering (SLS) material: iglidur i230
The iglidur i230 laser sintering powder stands out as another all-rounder material among the iglidur SLS materials. Unlike iglidur i3, however, it is designed for higher application temperatures and withstands long-term temperatures of up to 110 °C. Moreover, the material is 80 % more wear-resistant than PA12. Of all iglidur SLS materials, iglidur i230 offers the highest flexural strength and, in addtion, it has electrostatically dissipative (ESD) properties.
Good to know: iglidur i230 contains no PTFE and is therefore not affected by future PFAS regulations.

When to use it?

When a PFAS-free material is required
If the application temperature is above 80 °C in the long term and at a maximum of 110 °C
If components with high mechanical strength (also structural components) are required
If components with ESD properties are required up to 110 °C application temperature
