The Apiro® heavy-duty rack and pinion gearbox is the reinforced version of the proven Apiro® rack and pinion gearbox and was developed specifically for applications where higher loads, more stability and precise linear movement are required.
Rack and pinion gearboxes are used primarily for pusher tasks or in format adjustment.
A special advantage is the simple synchronisation of Apiro® rack and pinion gears. The version with built-in coupling allows shafts to be flexibly connected as a drive for several rack and pinion gears.
The Apiro® rack and pinion gearbox with integrated planetary gearbox allows direct connection to a NEMA17 motor. The planetary gear increases motor power. This creates a very compact but powerful drive unit.
At igus®, Apiro® stands for inexpensive gearbox solutions and flexible, customer-specific solutions. The modular gearbox system offers a wide range of products based on the combination of various designs on input and output of the gearboxes, different transmission ratios and a wide range of accessories. In addition to gear rack gearboxes, the modular gearbox system also includes bevel gearboxes and worm gears.
A modular structure and the simple connection of individual components allow cost-effective solutions for an infinite number of applications. Hence the name: "Apiro" is the Greek word for "infinite".
Apiro® can also be used to implement special solutions quickly and with little cost.
