Plain bearings from igus® have been installed in a prototype gear of an electromotor: It shall transmit the rotations of an electromotor and couple the pedal drive with the motor shaft. Conventional bearings are too heavy for this bike – low weight is especially important in e-mobility, in order to achieve optimal performance and energy efficiency. Plastic plain bearings from igus® are the perfect alternative.
